16mo, full calf, tooled, raised bands. pp 160. The author served as chaplain (and a spy) under General Tom Forster during the Jacobite uprising of 1715. This is his first-hand account. Endpapers annotated by a previous (contemporary) owner with notes about the text, marginal ink notations in the same hand scattered throughout the text. Endpapers are very heavily tattered at foredges, continuing several pages into the text (although to a lesser extent and not affecting text). Leather worn and separating from both the front and rear boards, spine label partially missing. Contents are relatively clean and readable with scattered foxing and stains.
